1) The flat mates and I went to Scarborough today, and a joyful time was had by all. The sea! The sand! The bloody seagulls! This is England (hee) so of course it rained, and a small but fierce member of our group forced us to eat our amazing portions of fish and chips on the beach. In the rain. Whilst holding umbrellas. Ah well- this is the stuff memories are made of I suppose. On a side note, I think that as a direct result of being completely swept up by the joy of seeing hills- actual hills!- I ate far more than was good for me.
2) Which reminds me: as much as I love home, the next 3 months are probably not going to be very good for my waistline, as a typical dinner-time conversation generally goes something like this:
Me: Ooh, that's a bit much. I'm not actually that hungry right now.
Sister and/or Mother: Stop starving yourself. heaps food onto plate
Food is love in my family, and there is no such thing as a small portion. If I'm honest, it's not really a hardship as it's all delicious so...pass the jollof rice, and keep the potato salad coming.
3) The list of things I have to accomplish over the next few weeks scares me. I think I'm going to run away from it- just for along little while!- and pretend that my first year isn't nearly over. **rocks back and forth in a corner**
